Halloween week 2009

This week has been a busy week.

On Wednesday, we went to the pumpkin patch. The kids had a lot of fun, although it was very cold. We picked out a couple of pumpkins that we carved yesterday. The first time our family carved pumpkins (which the kids also enjoyed). Back to the patch though. We went on the carousel, looked at the animals, and went through the hay maze. Kimberly rode the airplane ride and went down the inflatable slide.

On Thursday, we went to Disney on Ice. The kids had a blast and were mesmerized by seeing some of their favorite characters. They both got into it clapping and cheering along.

Friday we carved our pumpkins and we went to a Halloween birthday party. Unfortunately Mary (birthday girl) was not feeling well. It was a lot of fun though with dancing and visiting.

Today (Halloween) I took the kids Trick-Or-Treating and we handed out candy. Both the kids had fun walking to the houses we knew and saying “Trick-Or-Treat” to get goodies. They also really liked handing out candy to kids that came to our door. Kimberly would yell, “we’re coming, don’t go anywhere!”. We ended the night watching Pete’s Dragon.

I hope your Halloween was fun and safe.

God Bless.
Jamie

Summer Update

I can’t believe it has been so long. Well, this summer has not been boring, that is for sure.
We went to the beach in July (pics will come later as they are not resized for the web yet); we went to the fair here in the Tri-Citites in August; in September we went to the Spokane Fair; and the 1st part of October, Dustin went to Germany for work.

Here are some of the pictures from the Spokane Fair that my sister took.
Caleb had a nap during the day. Kimberly really enjoyed the “bungie”.

Kimberly and her cousins, Davie, Chase, and Kaylynn, riding on the cars. Caleb and Daddy eating cotton candy.

Kimberly on the carousel. Caleb can’t decide what to drink…actually he liked playing with the bottles.

Taking a quick break from all the excitement. My parents resting from the heat.

My nephew, Donnie, on the roller coaster that eventually broke down while the kids where on it even. All the kids (without the babies) making their music debut black-screen to “Wake Me Up Before You Go”…it was hilarious as Kimberly was half asleep during it.

This is just a portion of our summer. I will add more pics when I can.
Welcome fall.

Jamie

Announcing…

We have an announcement. We just found out that we are going to have another baby. We are excited and Kimberly has begun telling everyone that “mommy has a baby in her tummy.” We are due around mid-March I think. I have a doctor appointment on Wednesday to find out the due date. I will post more as I know.

Kimberly update

Kimberly’s collarbone is healing very nicely. We were able to take the sling off this week. She is still favoring her arm at times but she was able to go into the pool and have a little fun. We go back to the specialist on Wednesday for final X-Rays. They say that she should be healed as much as before she broke her bone. YEAH. I will update more after the next appointment.

Kimberly fun

We are back from the specialist office. Kimberly’s bone has already begun to heal and new bone has started growing already. They say she can stop wearing her sling after July 4th and that we go back in 3 weeks for (probably final) X-Rays. At that point (which will be 5.5 weeks from her fall) she should be healed as much as she was 6 weeks ago today. I hope that all this makes sense. I have been trying scan the X-Rays but have been having difficulty. The attached image is a very rude copy. Since I am not being able to scan the X-Ray as I’d like, I photo-shopped it up a bit. The original bones are still above one another however the white circle is new bone growth. I “drew” lines pointing it out. They say it is healing quite nicely and that she will have a knot on her collarbone that should smooth out in time. Thank you again for all your prayers. We will definitely keep everyone posted.

Upcoming Specialist Appointment

We have another appointment with the specialist for Kimberly tomorrow. They are going to new X-Rays to see how the collarbone is healing. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you. I will post again after the appointment with the update.

Granny’s Groupie

On Father’s Day we had Dustin’s parents over for dinner as well as his brother and his family. No, we did not eat them. We did however enjoy each others’ company and ate some great food. Afterward, while we sat around visiting, they pulled out the guitar hero. The nieces had fun and so did everyone else. It was especially funny to watch Caleb “Grandma’s Little Groupie” groove while Donna had her turn.

While Granny is rocking out to the guitar hero…unaware to her, her little groupie is Rockin’ out – dancing baby style.

News from the Specialist Appointment

Well, we went to the specialist office today and it went well enough. Kimberly was a little scared when the PA came in and she started to cry.

The PA said it would heal on it’s own – no surgery. They do not do surgery on anyone under the age of 6 or over the age of 60. He switched her harness for a sling to keep her arm immobile – although we are using both for bedtime tonight to help.

At this point, baths are okay but swimming is out – not even a wading pool allowed because she would not be able to balance.
It is early enough in the summer that we should be able to get some swimming in before the weather turns cold.

We go back in 2 weeks for more X-Rays and to see how things are healing. I will post as things come up.
